Kathmandu, Nov 29 (RSS) – Journalist Keshav Prasad Poudel is to be given the ‘Bijayababu Memorial Journalism Award’ for this Nepali year 2078 BS.
On the 10th memorial day of late journalist Bijaya Babu Khatri, journalist Poudel would be awarded, according to Nepal Samachar Kendra’s chairperson Laxmi Shrestha Khatri.
Poudel, currently associated with New Spotlight fortnightly magazine, has been actively pursuing journalism since 1985.
A selection committee comprising Federation of Nepalese Journalists (FNJ) Chair Bipul Pokharel and Nepal Samachar Kendra’s chairperson Khattri took the decision towards this effect.
The award was instituted in the memory of journalist Khatri who died in a road accident at Saljhandi of Rupandehi district on November 28, 2011.
A revolving fund was set up by deceased journalist’s spouse Laxmi Shrestha on November 28, 2018.
The award will be presented to Poudel on December 10 this year. Earlier, senior journalist Dhruba Hari Adhikari and Gokarna Gautam (posthumously) were feted with the Award.
