Kathmandu – Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has urged all the citizens to play a significant role in collecting information, indispensable for formulating country’s policy, by providing factual data in National Census-2078.

The National Household and Population Census-2078 is beginning today.

In a message on the occasion of the National Census 2078, Prime Minister Deuba mentioned that the census would not only count the population, but also determine the overall roadmap of the country’s development.

Enumerators across the country are deployed to collect personal and household details of all Nepalis starting from today till November 25 under the National Census.

Prime Minister Deuba stated that the details of service and facilities available in the families including population, economic and social status of all people across the nation as well as Nepalis living abroad would also be collected through community questionnaire for the first time in this Census.

The data received from it would be useful to formulate policy, plan and programmes of central level to local level.

“The census is indispensable to reveal our past condition, to know the present condition as well as ways to build a bright future,” reads the message by the Prime Minister.
