Putin, CIA director discuss bilateral ties, cybersecurity over phone

MOSCOW, Nov. 8 (Xinhua) – Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed bilateral ties and cybersecurity among other issues with Central Intelligence Agency Director William Burns in a telephone conversation, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Monday.

“Both sides covered bilateral relations, the crisis situation in diplomatic relations, and exchanged views on regional conflicts,” media reported, citing Peskov.

Peskov said Putin and Burns also addressed cybersecurity issues.

Burns met Russian Foreign Intelligence Service Director Sergei Naryshkin in Moscow on Tuesday during his working visit to the Russian capital.

Also on Tuesday, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev held talks with Burns in Moscow to “discuss Russian-American relations.”
